I haven't posted on this blog for more than six months, and I'm not sure what exactly I should do with it. Over the next couple of weeks, I think I'll retool it a bit. I know that I enjoy reading other peoples trip reports, so I want to at least keep the site so I can share my experiences and provide climb "beta" for other climbers.
I'll archive the ALA fundraising stuff, and layout a workout/climbing plan for 2009. In the meantime, I'm working on regaining some of the fitness level I achieved in 2008. I had too much fun over the winter. Ugh!
My climbing goals for 2009 include:
1.) Stay closer to home, but climb more technical routes on the local favoriates. In particular, I'm hoping for an opportunity to climb a more advanced route on Adams and perhaps Rainier. Anyone want to climb the Kautz route on Rainier or maybe the Adams glacier this summer?
2.) Get training -- My wife Jennifer bought me a couple weekends of training for my birthday in January. I'll be getting certified for avalanche safety in late March, and then in April I'm taking a crevasse rescue course.
3.) Look for opportunities to lead more substantial climbs.
It should be a great year!
