So, just in case my business fails, I'm actively building up my mountaineering skills. I figure there's a pretty significant market for middle-aged, out-of-shape, mountain guides. Call it a backup plan (I just need to sell Jen on the idea).
Last weekend I spent a couple days at an avalanche training course on Mt. Hood. Courtesy of my thoughtful wife Jen. Anyways, I didn't get any really good pictures ... the weather was pretty harsh ... but had fun; as you can tell from this picture.
By the way, this is our team running a very well executed rutschblock test. The conclusion? Extreme avalanche conditions for the day. Cool ... now if I can just regain feeling in my fingers.
Stay tuned to Birthday Gift, Part II -- Crevasse Rescue training in early April.
Thanks Jennifer!
